Attens Hypotheken has made an impressive growth in recent years. The portfolio grew from € 2.5 billion in outstanding mortgages in 2019 to € 5 billion at present, which is doubling in just five years. Over 20,000 households currently have a mortgage with Attens.
Attens Hypotheken provides mortgages to people who work or have worked in the healthcare and welfare sector. The offer is fully customised for this target group. For example, irregularity allowances and income from flexible employment contracts can be included when calculating borrowing capacity. Medical residents and professionals combining work and study through vocational training programs (BBL) are also eligible for a mortgage with Attens.
Hikmet Sevdican, CEO of Achmea Mortgages: "We are proud to have reached this milestone in our assets under management. Attens' mortgages are exclusively available for the 2.9 million members of Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn, which is also the institutional investor of the mortgages. We look forward to further growth and contributing to the financial security of those working in the healthcare and welfare sector."
Gert-Jan den Outer of Onderlinge Advies B.V. has been working with Attens Hypotheken since its launch in 2015: "In those years, we have helped many nurses and childcare workers in particular to get an Attens mortgage. Attens' offer fits their needs well, especially due to favorable conditions such as inclusion of an irregularity allowance. This allows us to truly offer something extra to homebuyers going for a maximised mortgage."
Attens Hypotheken is part of Achmea. The Attens brand was developed in 2015 in close collaboration with PGGM&CO, the member organisation of pension fund service provider PGGM. In this way, Achmea helps ensure that comfortable, healthy and happy living remains accessible to the participants of Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn.
